NetEnt to Release Jimi Hendrix Slot
5th February 2016 9:52 AM
NetEnt will follow up its Guns N’ Roses slot release by taking on another musical legend in gaming form. The Swedish company has been granted the rights to create a Jimi Hendrix slot by Experience Hendrix, the firm set up by the late musician’s father to manage his image and back catalogue, and they promise it will feature classic songs such as Purple Haze and Foxy Lady.
The slot will be the second in what is to be a trilogy of music-related games, branded NetEnt Rocks, from the Swedish software firm. The Hendrix title will be released on Sunday 21st April, with the final instalment in the series following on 22nd September, featuring British rockers Motörhead, whose lead singer Lemmy died late last year.
Simon Hammon, chief product officer for NetEnt, spoke of the responsibility of working with the Hendrix estate, describing the star who died in 1970 at the age of 27 as “indisputably one of the greatest rock stars that ever lived.” The singer, songwriter and guitarist will be animated in 3D in the slot game, with developers hand-crafting the graphics to create hundreds of facial expressions in as realistic detail as possible.
Speaking of the partnership, which was announced at the ICE Totally Gaming 2016 event in London, Experience Hendrix’s president and CEO Janle Hendrix said “We take enormous pride in the role we play in promoting Jimi's art and persona. Because of that, we are extremely selective in who we partner with. NetEnt, we feel, has an understanding of the importance and we're thrilled to work with them. The prospects are exciting."
You can play an array of fantastic games from NetEnt at 888Casino while you wait for the new Jimi Hendrix slot to make its debut later this year.
